Why is the coffee pot hidden? How did the minuet steps go again? The answers to these questions are known by the noblewoman Miss Blomcreutz, an enlightened figure from Suomenlinna. During Miss Blomcreutz’s house tours, the old Commandant’s House in the castle courtyard comes to life and invites visitors to experience the 18th-century atmosphere in an authentic interior. On the tour, you will learn about the museum and discover what the homes of 18th-century nobility were like. You will also hear about style and customs from that time. The tour includes a chance to try the steps of the fashionable minuet dance and explore the secrets of fan language. Sofia Ulrika Blomcreutz was the daughter of Colonel Didrik Blomcreutz. He served as the head of fortification work in the absence of the fortress founder, Augustin Ehrensvärd.

Arrive at Suomenlinna, sense the whispers of history on a summer day and take an invigorating time leap to the 18th century at the Ehrensvärd Museum during Miss Blomcreutz’s house tour on Suomenlinna Museum Day, 6 June at 12:00 and 14:00. The tour lasts about 30 minutes. Limited spots available.
