Plan your visit
Be careful
The fortification structures, walls and ramparts can be kilometres long and are for the most part unfenced. Use extra caution when moving around in the fortress! Please note that all visitors move in the fortress at their own risk.
Parents must not let their children wander about on their own or climb on the fortifications. There is a risk of falling, also in places that look deceptively safe. Plants in the summer and snow in the winter may hide the edge of a cliff.
When on the waterfront, you should keep an eye on passing ships as these give rise to dangerously strong currents. Watch your step in the winter, for surfaces can be icy and slippery.
