Guest harbour
The guest harbour on the perimeter of Suomenlinna’s dockyard on Susisaari island is a popular spot for making a stop or visiting Suomenlinna overnight. The guest harbour is open for boaters from 1 May through the end of September. The renovated old ammunition foundry houses the Café Bar Valimo and all harbour services are located in the same building.
The harbour is approached via the channel between the Länsi-Mustasaari and Susisaari islands. The harbour has 40 berths with booms. All mooring is subject to a fee and berths are available on a first-come first-served basis. Berths in the guest harbour cannot be reserved in advance. Fuel is not sold in Suomenlinna. For additional information on the harbour’s services and fees, please see the guest harbour website (in Finnish).
The guest harbour is the only area for visitors with their own boats to moor in Suomenlinna. Other piers in the fortress area are only for the use of the authorities, the military, ferry and waterbus service or residents, and visitor mooring is not permitted. Due to the high waves caused by the active ship traffic (e.g. cruise ships to Sweden), mooring anywhere else can be dangerous.
