When you arrive at Suomenlinna, start at the Visitor Centre which is located next to the main pier! There you will hear more about the maritime district of Helsinki and the historic sea fortress. Our staff will provide you and your group with the best and most up-to-date tips. Get information about the World Heritage Site, its services and events, as well as insights into enjoying Suomenlinna with care.

The Visitor Centre is located conveniently right next to the main pier, in the pink Jetty Barracks. The friendly staff will provide you and your group with the best and most up-to-date tips. Get information about the World Heritage Site, its services and events, as well as insights into enjoying Suomenlinna with care.

The Visitor Centre also offers a free map brochure of Suomenlinna. The map brochure is available in nine languages. The brochure includes a service map of the fortress and basic information about the history and sights of Suomenlinna.

You can also explore the free exhibition, which provides excellent background information about the World Heritage Site.

The Visitor Centre has free wireless internet access. We also recommend using the free digital guide to Suomenlinna, which will help you to easily find the services, sights and routes of the fortress. The digital guide works on your smart device both via the browser and as an application that can be downloaded from app stores.

The ferry waiting area is open every day from 6.00 a.m. to 1.45 a.m. during the ferry operating hours. The waiting area has public toilets where you can also fill your water bottle.
