Celebrations

Our event venues are located in Helsinki’s most maritime district, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Suomenlinna. The historic fortress provides a unique setting, and our self-service venues allow you to create an event tailored entirely to your own style.

Eight distinctive and atmospheric venues can be adapted to suit a wide range of important occasions. Would you like to host an unforgettable wedding in a unique UNESCO World Heritage Site, or organize a corporate event in a maritime fortress? A short fifteen-minute ferry ride from central Helsinki helps you switch into celebration mode.

In our self-service venues, you can choose your preferred catering provider from the island’s many options or create a completely customized setup for your day. Our spaces are well suited for a variety of events, such as:

Check available dates and submit a free, preliminary booking request
You can view up-to-date availability in our booking calendar(opens in a new window). Once you find a suitable date, we recommend submitting a free preliminary booking request as soon as possible.

The event spaces are heated and accessible year-round, with the exception of Ruutikellari. During the winter season from October 1 to April 30, the venues are more affordably priced, and weekend bookings may qualify for a discounted three-day package rate.

How can I visit the venues?
We regularly host open house events in all of our event spaces. You are welcome to attend an open house at your convenience without prior registration and meet our sales coordinators. We announce upcoming open house events on each venue’s webpage, as well as by email to all customers who have made a booking.

You are also welcome to contact us to arrange a private viewing on weekdays between 9 am and 3 pm. For customers who have already made a preliminary booking, we can also arrange self-guided visits, for example in the evening.

Upcoming open house events:
Myllysali: Tuesday 7 July, 14:00–15:30
Tenaille von Fersen: Tuesday 7 July, 15:30–17:00

The doors will be open between the venues for the entire three-hour period. You are welcome to come and explore the spaces without prior registration!

P.S. You can find more information about arrival, transportation, furniture, and other practical details in the FAQ section(opens in a new window) on our website.

Suomenlinna is accessible year-round by the HSL ferry. Ferries run daily from 6:00 am (from Market Square) until 2:00 am (from Suomenlinna). We recommend that event organizers advise participants to arrive at the ferry terminal early, especially during the summer season.

From May to September, Suomenlinna can also be reached by water bus, for which tickets can be purchased in advance. The water bus operates from Market Square to Tykistölahti bay, in the heart of the fortress. You can start your celebration already on the journey by chartering a private water bus, as several Helsinki water bus operators offer customized transportation to Suomenlinna. Charter piers are located right next to the Susisaari bridge and near the main pier.

For more detailed information, please visit the “Arriving to Suomenlinna” section on our website, where you will also find links to water bus tickets, schedules, and other essential information. Open the “Arriving to Suomenlinna” section in a new tab.(opens in a new window)

Suomenlinna is explored on foot. Some of the paths are paved with cobblestones, so we recommend wearing comfortable footwear. The roads are maintained year-round and are plowed, sanded, and lit during the winter season.

The renter is responsible for guiding their guests to the event venue primarily using maps. Our venues can also be found on Google Maps. If guidance cannot be arranged using maps alone, a small number of temporary signs may be attached to signposts. All signs and their attachments must be removed immediately after the event. Attaching signs to building facades or anywhere other than signposts is strictly prohibited. A fee will be charged according to our price list for the removal of any signs left in the area.
