The touring exhibition organized by the Finnish Glass Museum celebrates the inclusion of handmade glassmaking on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The exhibition presents the tradition of handmade glass and highlights Finnish glassmaking activities and expertise.
Glass has been blown in Suomenlinna since the 1970s. The studio glass activity initiated by Heikki Kallio has been continued by Glass Studio Hytti, which has hosted several makers of both functional and art glass.
The touring exhibition has been complemented with works by Heikki Kallio and glass artists who have worked in Suomenlinna in the 2020s.
