Laura Aalto-Setälä’s work combines blown glass and materials research.
Artist and researcher Laura Aalto-Setälä’s work is based on research into glass materials. Her artistic thinking has been shaped particularly through research into bioactive and other functional glass materials.
In her work, glass is considered as an active and changing material, the properties of which guide form and making.
The parts created in the glassblowing demonstration are later built into a larger work of art through grinding and other post-processing.
The work is continuous, and the demonstration does not have separate starting times.
