Are you planning a visit to Suomenlinna on May the 3rd?

Here is some important information about the day’s traffic arrangements and exceptions in water traffic.

On Wednesday 3rd of May 2023 there will be exceptional traffic arrangements around Market Square (Kauppatori) and Suomenlinna’s water traffic, which we recommend you to familiarize yourself with, if you are planning a visit to Suomenlinna on May 3rd, 2023.

Due to the exceptional arrangements, the water buss will not operate on Wednesday the 3rd of May 2023 and the HSL ferries will take a detour between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Both HSL’s passenger ferries and the service ferry depart exceptionally from Katajanokka (address: Suomenlinna huoltolautta, 00160 Helsinki), but use their permanent piers in Suomenlinna. The passenger ferry therefore arrives at Suomenlinna’s main pier, and the service ferry at Suomenlinna’s service pier. Before 9 a.m. and after 10 p.m., ferries run according to normal schedules and HSL’s passenger ferry departures from its permanent pier from Kauppatori (Market Square). The service ferry M/S Ehrensvärd operates exceptionally until 10:30 p.m. in order to allow vehicles to pass if necessary before traffic returns to normal.

The tram number 4 to Katajanokka operates less frequently than normally. The closest tram stops to the Katajanokka pier are Ulkoministeriö and Merisotilaantori.
